For an instant the stunned clerk stands there in disbelief, she thinks the man is not serious, but when she saw him climbing over the counter she realized the seriousness of the situation and began screaming wildly. She also ran away from the checkout counter in an attempt to reach a back room where she can lock herself. But the crook ran faster than her and tried to catch her from the open side of the checkout counter. She saw him coming from the other end and returned behind the counter and tried to jump her way out of it. She dives over the counter but the man grabs her foot, causing her to fall on the ground on the other side of the counter. Te robber eventually grabs a hold of her and smacks her head unintentionally on the side of the wooden counter. The clerk goes limp as the gutless thief pounds her head on the counter. He then picked her up and tossed her back over the counter. As he is doing so, the clerk pretended to be knocked out and stopped moving and screaming. The crook buys the trick and leaves her laying on the floor without paying much attention to her.

The burglar then heads for the cash register, he struggles with it in an attempt to get it to open but with no luck. He even picks it up and drops it on the floor several times, but the sturdy machine will not give in. While the burglar is preoccupied with the cash register, the swift clerk gets up and makes a quite escape to a back room and locks herself in. the crook catches up with her but it was too late, she has already locked the door tightly behind her and he can not get it to open. Unable to open the register, the bandit takes the entire register but not before returning to grab a carton of cigarettes. A closer look shows how some quick thinking may have saved the woman's life. Acting as if she was unconscious gave her the chance to flee to the back room and lock the door behind her. The ruthless suspect is still at large but with this heinous act caught on camera authorities are not far behind.
