To the cashier’s surprise, the thief then demands the store’s surveillance tape. The thief knew that his identity was already exposed by the security cameras staring him right in the face near the register. The clerk says that the security equipment is locked up and that he can not access the tape, only the store's owner has permission to do so. The robber gives up on the attendant and instead turns his attention to a stash of cigarettes; the terrified cashier stands in fear and thinks he might be out of danger, but he is wrong. As soon as the robber finished stuffing the remainng space of his bag with cigarette packs, he comes swinging his hammer at the cashier’s upper body. He repeatedly hits him with the hammer while the clerk started screaming in terror and tried to get a hold of the thief's arm.

When they later viewed the surveillance tape of this violent incident, the police authorities were shocked by the brutal beating caught on tape and could not believe that reality can be this vicious. The clerk was petrified when he was being attacked, in fact at a later interview with the clerk he said that he thought he was going to be killed in that attack. Abruptly the savage punishment ends. The robber’s backup mate quickly instructs him that it is time to leave the store. The attacker jumps over the counter again and makes a quick exit along with his partner.

The bruised and bleeding victim hits the alarm of the store, but it is too late. The crooks make a successful get away, or so they think. The tape airs on local news and has a dramatic impact on the small community. The public were horrified when they viewed the surveillance footage of this wild and cruel incident. This eventually led to the capture of the two thieves. It was actually a family member of the criminal who turned him in to the police. The clerk feels safer knowing his attacker is behind bars for along time.
