A New Jersey jewelry store has just opened up in the early hours of the morning; the store sells jewelry as well as the famous and expensive Rolex watches. The managers and employees of the store went about their daily business as usual. Business is usually slow in the first few hours of the morning, so a female clerk sat quietly guessing who would be the first customer to enter the shop.

Suddenly a man wearing a striped orange shirt entered the store and approached the cashier standing behind the glass counter. The clerk quickly approached and greeted him. She noticed something strange about him. He never made eye contact with her and just kept looking left and right as if he was looking for something or making sure that nobody was watching him. As a precautionary act, the concerned clerk signaled for her boss and other employees to block the main door. As soon as she made eye contact with her boss he went up to the front of the store and called for assistance on the intercom. However, these precautionary actions did not prevent the clerk from continuing to serve the customer in the most polite and welcoming manner.

The man initially told the cashier that he was shopping for a gift for his parents and requested to look at three high end watches. This increased the suspicion of the clerk. Customers do not usually ask for multiple products at a time especially with this type of expensive merchandise. When she put the watches on the glass counter the suspect grabbed one watch and started to put it on as if he was trying it out. Then suddenly he locked it on his hand and grabbed the other two watches and made a run for it. Apparently he thought it would be easy to snatch sixty thousand dollars worth of Rolex watches from this New Jersey jewelry store.

As he tired to make his quick get away he was tackled by the store employees. He was able to escape from the store’s manager but a store employee was able to grab him and wrestle him for a couple of minutes as an attempt to delay his escape until the cops arrive. Within minutes, the police arrive. The store manager later explained to the police that they ran up to the store’s front door and locked it as soon as they realized that the customer was actually a thief. The police advised them against such an act, if the thief was armed they would have been in real trouble. The suspect was taken into custody; no one was hurt in the incident which was all caught on tape.

Even if the thief was able to get away, catching him would not be entirely impossible, thanks to the digital security camera systems installed in the store. The captured footage clearly displays the facial features of the thief which makes it very easy for the police and public to recognize the crook. The colored footage also shows the skin color of the suspect as well as the colors of his cloths, a powerful feature indeed.
