The suspect waits for the clerk to get close to the shelf and takes a step back positing himself right behind the clerk and he sucker punches the clerk right at the base of his skull from behind his back at full force using the knuckles of his closed fist. The clerk immediately falls to the ground. The thief was hoping that he could knock the clerk unconscious with this massive blow, but this Vietnam War veteran needed more than a punch to knock him out. Realizing that the clerk is still awake the bandit continues to attack him in an attempt to knock him out. He drags the clerk to a back room where he could attack him out of the eyes of customers who may come in the store at any moment.

The frail old man poses no threat to his savage attacker. In a back room the assault continues. The surveillance video shows footage of a very savage beating. The perpetrator unexpectedly produces a folding knife. And he says to the clerk that he was going to kill him. The clerk looked at this three and a half inch blade of his knife and was extremely alarmed of its presence in the thief’s hand. The attacker opens up a cut above the clerk’s left eye. The clerk is dragged through a pool of his own blood. The thief finally instructs the old clerk to go inside the employees’ bathroom. He locks him in there and the punishment finally ends.

The thug turns his attention to the cash register, but finds it locked. He storms back towards his victim. The clerk again finds himself cornered by the robber. He instructs the clerk that he needs assistance in opening the cash drawer. The crook gets the cash and then he instructs the clerk to sit on the floor. The cashier informs him that his eye hurts and can not move too much. However the bandit insists that he sits on the floor or he will attack him again. The old man complies and the bandit leaves the store. The clerk runs towards the front door and locks it. He is left cut, bruised and dazed but still alive. The police were really shocked by how the elderly clerk was able to perform a fantastic job in defending himself.
