The surveillance footage of a convenience store at Bethlehem Pennsylvania shows the clerk walking calmly as he waits for customers to visit his store in a late hour of the night. Customers have recently stopped coming to this local mart, thanks to a rash of robberies. In the past month alone four robberies have significantly damaged the finances of the store, and all of them were done by the same perpetrator. It appears from the security video that he was going to robe the shop for the fifth time .but this time, the clerk has a message for him.

As the clerk walks about the store waiting for a customer, suddenly he notices the familiar hooded figure that robbed him in the past four robberies as he approaches the store. The clerk quickly runs back behind the counter since he knows that the thief will ask for money as he did in the past four robberies. As expected, the thief demands cash. At this point the thief is only seen holding a plastic bag that he expects to get filled up with cash, no weapon is immediately noticed in his hands, and this fact encourages the cashier to resist this selfish crook.

The cashier opens the register as if to comply with the thief's commands. But he decides to fight the crook. He swiftly snatches a baseball bat with his left hand while hitting a panic button with his right hand, a button that locks the front door of the store preventing the man’s escape. The clerk bashes the crook with the bat over the head six times before he can duck aside, during all this; the crook was trying to open up the front door which was locked shut. The battered robber flees out of a back door bloodied and bruised by the surprise attack. If not for the clerk’s cousin convincing him to stop his retaliation he might have been in a much worse condition. Of course things could have been worse for the clerk too. A careful look at the surveillance video reveals that the crook had a pocket knife in his left hand which he actually used to attack the clerk and cut his finger during the confrontation. Luckily, the thief decides to run through a back door and not fight the angry clerk. However he does not get far. Thanks to a local tipster, police catch him at his home twenty minutes later; he confesses to the robbery and now faces charges for the other four incidents.

The security surveillance system of the store has made it possible for the clerk to share the incidents of the five crimes and prove that this thief was involved in all of them. It also helped the cashier to realize holes and gaps in his security and safety system that thieves and robbers can take advantage of. He also realized that having a bat is not enough to protect his property, in fact, attacking the thief with it was not the most safe method to go about it, an automatic sliding alarm wall was more appropriate.
